I thought I would share a little bit more about what I'm doing with my music. Are you tired of the same old music that degrades women, glorifies ghetto life, and offers no real value besides a good beat? Are you tired of the same old artist that makes this kind of music and then turns around to start a non-profit to give back? They basically think they can pollute your mind with garbage and make up for it by using their money to give back. I guess you can't hate them for that, but its hipocracy.
So, I stand here being an antedote to the hipocracy. I'm here to start a movement using hip hop music to get out the message. If hip hop is the vehicle for change, and I intend on fueling it. I'm tired of seeing k-4 girls dancing like the video girls shaking everything they don't have because they think that's what real beauty looks like. I'm tired of k-4 boys, playing hard like they are little thugs because they think that's what a man is supposed to be, a thug. I'm tired of baby's daddy and baby's mama being the norm instead of a family. I'm tired of black communities looking hopeless. I'm here to bring the hope back. To give people a reason to nod their heads, besides the beat being tight. I want the beats to be tight and lyrics to bring insight so we can go out here in the world and make a change for the better.
With any success I'm blessed to have, I will definetly be giving back. I'll be investing in programs that do good in the community and starting some of my own. This is the mission, this is the man, this is DLUX The Light!
